Oseosan Mountain which appears brilliant with the waves of silver grass is the tallest mountain in the Naepo region. At the peak of the mountain, one can enjoy the breath-taking view of the west coast.
It is called the lighthouse or the compass of the West Sea as it can be seen from far out at sea. Boasting the highest peak in the northwestern region of Chungcheongnam-do Province, Oseosan Mountain covers the areas of Hongseong, Boryeong and Cheongyang.
The silver grass found on the north side of the mountain looks especially fantastic under the glow of the sun during sunset. The Jeongamsa Temple founded by Monk Daeun-daesa is situated halfway up the mountain. After their descent, most hikers head to the Gwancheong Salted Shrimp Market situated nearby. Oseosan is closed to the Gwangcheon Station on the Janghang Line and is known as a hiking spot near a train station.
